Ford GT production in Canada extended for two more years

Ford Motor Co. has announced that it is extending the production of its Ford GT Supercar for two more years. Intially producting 500 GTs, with 250 being built a year at a facility in Markham, Ontario, the company has accepted it received 6,506 applications for the first 500 vehicles which are priced at $400.000 a piece.

“While we can’t build enough Ford GTs for everyone who has applied, we are going to produce additional vehicles in an effort to satisfy more of our most loyal Ford ambassadors,” said Dave Pericak, global director at Ford Performance, in a statement Friday. “We want to keep Ford GT exclusive, but at the same time we know how vital this customer is to our brand.”

Apple launches Apps et jeux en français on the Canadian App Store

Apple has added 'Apps et jeux en français' to tis Canadian App Store to highlight Canadian-made apps and content with specific curated lists of apps that best represent this genre of Canadian contant. 

Some of the collections featured this week include:
  • Apps créées au Québec (Apps Made in Quebec) 
  • Préparez la rentrée (Get Ready for School) including apps for teachers and older students (productivity, organization, note taking etc.)
  • De nouveaux lieux à explorer (Go Somewhere New): collections of apps  including Explore Western Canada, Explore Eastern Canada, Explore Atlantic Canada, as well as excellent apps to help plan your trips to new places (including Airbnb, Packing Pro, KAYAK, Turo, and more)

Apple releases list of performers for Apple Music Festival's 10th anniversary

The 10 nights of live performances will be made available live and on-demand to Apple Music members in 100 countries on their iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC, Apple TV and Android phones.  

The Apple Music Festival will celebrate it's 10th year with a return to London's legendary Roundhouse this September. Formerly the iTunes Festival, the series will feature  live music from Alicia Keys, Bastille, Britney Spears, Calvin Harris, Chance The Rapper, Elton John, Michael Bublé, OneRepublic, Robbie Williams and The 1975.

The full lineup was announced today by Julie Adenuga, the London voice of Beats 1, an Apple Music radio station. Apple Music lets fans get even closer to their favorite performers during the Apple Music Festival with exclusive playlists, artist news and backstage interviews throughout September.

Chevrolet expanding Teen Driving technologies across 9 nameplates

The reality that young drivers apparently account for over 30 per cent of accidents today, the fatal crash rate per mile for 16-19 year olds is 3 times the rate than that of drivers over 20 made the Teen Driving feature of the 2016 Chevy Malibu an innovative application of technology and now Chevrolet is looking to expand the technology to more vehicles.

Chevrolet confirmed it is expanding its Teen Driver technology this fall to nine nameplates, covering 64 percent of the brand’s sales. It will be included on the 2017 Bolt, Camaro, Colorado, Cruze, Malibu, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe and Volt. The service is free for the life of the vehicle.
