The Apple Beat: Happy 30th Anniversary Macintosh

Video: ASUS VivoTab 8 overview from CES 2014

Contributor Alex Davies finds out more about the ASUS ViVoTab 8 Windows 8.1 tablet at the show floor in CES complete with the keyboard accessory. Coming to market in March, the ViVoTab 8 will be available starting at $299 for the 32GB version although wisdom dictates users go for the 64GB version for around $350.

First look at LG's G Flex curved and flexible smartphone from CES 2014

Curved screens were the hot topic at CES 2014 and not just on LED HDTVs. Both LG and Samsung promised curved smartphones as some of the things to expect in 2014. LG's G Flex, which the company claims is the world's first flexible and curved smartphone,  drew a lot of attention and while still considered a cutting edge (read: expensive) product, this 6-inch curved OLED sportin' smartphone show uss what one version of the future of our mobile devices could be like. Let's see if we can see any bumps on that curved display.

MasterCard: eCommerce heated in December up as Canadian temperatures plunged

Canadians responded to extreme weather conditions in December by taking their holiday shopping online – and they reached a major milestone in the process. For the first time in Canadian eCommerce history, the online share of retail sales totalled 7.8% for the month of December according to MasterCard SpendingPulse, a macro-economic report that leverages purchase information across all forms of payment – credit cards, cash and cheque – to offer detailed insight into consumer spending trends.
