Lines for iPad mini launch in Toronto

Around 45 people were lined up in anticipation for Apple's iPad mini which went on sale in store at 8:00 a.m. today. The smaller iPad offers the features and power of the iPad 2 but in a smaller 7.9-inch size, it will be available in white and silver as well as slate and black and is currently a WiFi only device (a 4G version ships late November). Preorders for the iPad mini began last week and online stock for all models quickly sold out. There is now a two week waiting period of online orders. The iPad mini starts at $329.

Tomorrow is iPad mini day

Apple's much anticipated iPad mini finally makes it to stores tomorrow. The WiFi variant of the 7.9-inch tablet was open for preorders last week but all of those have been spoken for and are sold out. The only way to get a new iPad mini is by going to an Apple Retail Store and those will open at 8 a.m. Have your heart set on the 4G LTE+WiFi models? Those aren't coming until the end of the month. If the fun-size iPad isn't your cup of tea, the new 4th generation iPad with that blazing new A6X processor hits stores as well.

Samsung launches Galaxy Note II and Galaxy Rugby LTE

The Samsung juggernaut isn't standing still. Today's the day we see the second generation phablet stomp into the market as the bigger, badder Galaxy Note II becomes available. Samsung also given Telus the green light to launch the Galaxy Rugby LTE.

Microsoft reveals more Windows Phone 8 features at launch

Amateur hour is over and Microsoft is set to rejoin the highly competitive smartphone market. This was evident during a webcast event held  yesterdayat Microsoft Canada's Toronto offices where journalists and bloggers were gathered to watch  a Windows 8 event taking place in San Francisco, California.
