Apple's Wireless AirPods are now available in Canada for $219

Apple's long-awaited Bluetooth AirPods are finally available for order online. Canadians can expect to pay $219 (plus taxes) for a pair and if you order now, Apple is promising delivery by December 21. AirPods serve the purpose of pushing Apple's all-wireless agenda for their mobile products. An ideal companion to the iPhone 7 (which has no headphone jack but ships with Lighting earbuds as well as an adaptor), AirPods offer 24-hours of mixed use, have accelerometers and sensors that can determine when they are being worn plus they have beamforming microphones for enhanced voice quality. Microsoft Surface sales are at an all time high

Microsoft says interest and sales of their Surface line of products is at an all time high in November befhind the release of the new Surface Book with Performance Base, the Surface Studio as well as the discounted Surface Pro 4. Microsoft is also crediting its trade-inprogram, which accepts Apple MacBooks for trade-in value towards a new Surface device being behind some of their success.

Review: 808

Apple Music subscribers got a treat this week when 808, a documentary on the Roland TR-808 Drum Machine, was made available on the service (viewable via iTunes). The Roland 808 started as a tool to accompany organ players but in the hands of early rap and dance music producers it became the sound responsible for launching myriad music movements during the past 30 years.

The documentary is narrated by Beats 1 DJ Zane Lowe  and features interviews with musical luminaries iike Afrikaa Bambataa (whose Planet Rock served as the blueprint for just what could be achieved with this tool turned instrument), The Beasti Boys, Rick Rubin, Fatboy Slim, New Order and a host of many others whose use of the 808 defined their careers, hit songs and various followers.

Breaking: Amazon Web Services Cloud now available to customers from Data Centers in Canada

Toronto, ON: Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon.com company, announced the launch of the AWS Canada (Central) Region.

With this launch, AWS now provides 40 Availability Zones across 15 technology infrastructure regions globally, with another seven Availability Zones and three regions in the UK, France, and China expected to come online in the coming months. Tens of thousands of Canadian customers are using other AWS Regions and starting today, developers, start-ups, and enterprises, as well as government, education, and non-profit organizations can leverage the AWS Cloud to run their applications and store their data on infrastructure in Canada.
