Get creative with the Fujifilm instax Mini 99

Photo: Fujifilm

Fujifilm just dropped the newest addition to the instax family, the Mini 99. This camera isn't just another pretty face (although, let's be honest, the matte black finish is pretty darn sleek). It comes packed with features designed to elevate your instant photography game, giving you more control than you've had with past instax cameras.

Remember those days of waiting to see how your photo turned out? With the instax Mini 99, you can get creative before you even click the shutter. The built-in Color Effect Dial lets you choose from six unique effects: Faded Green, Warm Tone, Light Blue, Soft Magenta, Sepia, and Light Leak. These effects are applied directly to the film, giving your instant prints a whole new dimension.

Fujifilm follows up its viral camera with X100VI

The Fujifilm X100V was so wildly popular that even though it's a four-year-old camera it's back-ordered at every camera retailer. And its retail price shot up to insane amounts following a viral moment on TikTok. Now, there's a new model that would hopefully take the heat off of it. Or at least direct the attention to this newer model. The Fujifilm X100VI (read as "x one hundred six") retains the looks of its predecessor but adds improvements that expand its usability in more shooting environments.

Like the Fujifilm X-T5 and X-H2, the X100VI leaps to a 40-megapixel sensor with a fixed 23mm f/2.0 lens. It gives you better cropping opportunities and editing flexibility. On top of this, Fujifilm finally brings in-body image stabilization into this camera with six stops of stabilization. This comes in handy when you want to keep your shutter speed as slow as possible while preserving image sharpness.

How the instax Pal lets you capture and print your photos in minutes

Fujifilm’s latest instax camera, the instax Pal, is a tiny 4.9-megapixel digital camera that lets you print your photos with the included instax Mini Link 2 printer. You can also edit your photos with the Pal app, which connects to the camera and the printer via Bluetooth. The insax Pal is designed for teens who want to capture and share life’s spontaneous moments.

The camera has a wide-angle lens, a flash, and a simple viewfinder. You can take photos by pressing the shutter button on the back or by using the app as a remote control. The camera also supports interval shooting, with options for 3, 6, 11, or 21 continuous images at three-second intervals.

Fujifilm launches INSTAX mini 12 with a new lens and design

Image: Fujifilm

Fujifilm recently released a new iteration of its INSTAX mini camera, bringing a new lens feature and some design changes. The INSTAX mini 12's lens structure is its most notable change. You can now twist the lens to enter the Close-Up Mode instead of pushing a button, similar to a traditional point-and-shoot. This should make the zooming experience a bit more intuitive. You still can't turn off the flash, but a new automatic flash control should better optimize image quality in bright and low-light environments.

The INSTAX mini 12 now has a more rectangular body than its predecessor. But it still maintains the rounded edges of the mini 11. Its sides aren't that curved and are less wide, so holding it while taking photos is much easier. The mini 12 comes in some light colours, appealing to the younger users who typically get these cameras. It's available in white, pink, lavender, blue, and a new mint green. The INSTAX mini 12 will be launching in mid-March for USD 79.95 (around CAD 110).
