Satellite SOS comes to the Pixel Watch 4 in Canada

Source: Google

The March 2026 Pixel Drop introduces several enhancements to the Pixel Watch lineup, prioritizing user safety and seamless integration with the Pixel ecosystem. A major highlight is the expansion of Satellite SOS to Canada, Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska, allowing Pixel Watch 4 users to contact emergency services even when off the grid. Additionally, standalone earthquake alerts are now available on Pixel Watch 2 and newer models, providing potentially life-saving seconds of notice by notifying users of an earthquake's magnitude. For everyday security, the "Phone lock on disconnect" feature automatically locks a paired phone when the watch moves out of Bluetooth range, preventing unauthorized access.

Efficiency and personalization also take center stage in this update. Pixel Watch 3 users can now utilize one-handed gestures, such as a double pinch or wrist turn, to answer calls, snap photos, or pause workouts. Finding misplaced items is simplified with the new Find Hub, which allows users to locate devices directly from their wrist.

Google plans to launch new Fitbit products in 2026

Source: Google

Alongside the launch of a newly redesigned artificial intelligence-powered Fitbit Coach app, Google confirmed it would be introducing new Fitbit hardware in the coming year. The teased hardware will be the first new Fitbit product since 2023, as Google has focused on its Pixel Watch devices recently.

We don't know yet when new Fitbit trackers are coming, but launching new software ahead of time suggests Google is building these devices from the ground up. And the new features are coming to new devices instead of outdated ones.

'Pixel Watch fully charged' notifications get wider release

Screenshot: 9to5Google

It's unclear why it is taking Google longer to release this update, but more people are finally seeing the "Pixel Watch fully charged" notification on their devices. Once your watch completely charges, the Google Pixel Watch companion app will let you know. A server-side update has started rolling out to bring this to more users. If it hasn't made it to you, you can also check through the Bluetooth Quick Settings Tile or the Battery widget on your Pixel phone.
