Satellite SOS comes to the Pixel Watch 4 in Canada

The March 2026 Pixel Drop introduces several enhancements to the Pixel Watch lineup, prioritizing user safety and seamless integration with the Pixel ecosystem. A major highlight is the expansion of Satellite SOS to Canada, Europe, Hawaii, and Alaska, allowing Pixel Watch 4 users to contact emergency services even when off the grid. Additionally, standalone earthquake alerts are now available on Pixel Watch 2 and newer models, providing potentially life-saving seconds of notice by notifying users of an earthquake's magnitude. For everyday security, the "Phone lock on disconnect" feature automatically locks a paired phone when the watch moves out of Bluetooth range, preventing unauthorized access.

Efficiency and personalization also take center stage in this update. Pixel Watch 3 users can now utilize one-handed gestures, such as a double pinch or wrist turn, to answer calls, snap photos, or pause workouts. Finding misplaced items is simplified with the new Find Hub, which allows users to locate devices directly from their wrist.

Google brings pinch, wrist gestures to Pixel Watch 4

Google is making it easier to do one-handed gestures on the Pixel Watch 4. With its December update, the company is bringing a double pinch gesture to the smartwatch. By pinching your index finger and thumb together twice, you can perform actions such as scrolling through notifications, pausing your timer or stopwatch, snoozing an alarm, sending the first Smart Reply, and playing or pausing music. The option to answer and end calls is coming "soon."

The Pixel Watch 4 also gets a wrist turn gesture, where you "quickly turn your wrist away from you and back," to dismiss calls or close other alerting notifications.

Google Pixel Watch 4, Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold might arrive in October

A few of the Google Pixel devices launching later this month won't be available until October. WinFuture, citing "well-informed sources," said the Google Pixel Watch 4, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel Buds 2a are expected to be available starting October 9. The report noted "supply chain issues" as a potential reason for the delay.

Meanwhile, the Google Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro XL are expected to be released by August 28.
