Hundreds of new emoji, including more emotive smiley faces, gender-neutral characters, clothing options, food types, animals, mythical creatures and more, are coming to iPhone and iPad with iOS 11.1.

Microsoft brings Edge browser to iOS and Android

If you’ve been waiting for Microsoft to bring its Windows 10 browser to mobile, the wait is almost over. We say almost as Microsoft is initially rolling out the preview Edge browser app to iOS and Android users in the US and only available in English, for now. You’ll need to be part of Microsoft’s Windows Insider Program, which you can sign up for here. The preview app is already available to iOS users and will be coming to Android soon.

If you use Edge on your desktop, then this will bring all your Favorites, Reading List, Reading View, and New Tab Page from the PC to your phone. And then like Apple’s Handoff feature, you can open a page on your phone and send that right off to your laptop or desktop.

Review: Apple iPhone 8 Plus

iPhone 8 Plus feels substantially more powerful and quicker than most top tier Android competitors. It smokes the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in everything from loading videos and websites, as well as simply navigating and moving from app to app.

Apple's iPhone 8 Plus may look like more of the same in terms of large smartphone dimensions, but the real significance of this update is under the hood and in the updated cameras.

The iPhone 8 Plus is the fourth large-format smartphone from Apple and it retains the same dimensions as the iPhone 7 Plus. A fact that multiple case and accessory makers have happily declared.

While it features the same 5.5-inch display that's made the jumbo iPhone the go-to device for iOS users who want to supersize, there are some surprises. The true-tone display that's been an iPad Pro exclusive feature now appears on iPhones 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

iOS 11 coming as a free update tomorrow

Tomorrow will see Apple's servers getting busy as the company releases iOS 11, the latest version of their operating system for iPhones, iPads and iPod Touch devices.

A huge update for iPads, iOS 11 brings enhanced multitasking, a new dock, a Files app as well as more fluid drag and drop functionality that makes Apple's tablet a better productivity and content creation tool.  Other features coming to iOS 11 include capabilities for Augmented Reality or AR, a redesigned App Store with curated information on suggested apps, better Apple Music integration and discovery, an improved Siri voice assistant.
