Apple celebrates iPhone appreciation with new series of ads

iPhone is Apple's most important and profitable product, it is also the nerve-centre of various expanding ecosystems (i.e. HealthKit, watchOS, CarPlay, AirPlay, HomeKit). The latest series of ads titled 'If it's not an iPhone," celebrate iPhone ownership while possibly shooting missives at some rival devices that have copied aspects of the iPhone's look and feel. The new ads have a slick yet playful vibe, reminiscent of the classic iPod advertisements of years past.

Flickr's iOS app now more like Camera Roll, can auto-upload all your photos

Flickr is continously innovating its apps to regain part of the photo storage and sharing mojo it once had. The new version of the Flickr iOS app now behaves more like Apple's Camera Roll which makes it more familiar to users. Photos can now be auto-uploaded to Flickr, making it easier than ever before to backup and share.

Flickr also features various photo filters and the ability to share directly to Instagram. Flickr is offering 1TB of free storage, and a typical iPhone photo coming in at around 2.5Mb, that gives you capacity in the order of half a million photos. What do you get with Photos for OS X then? The app is middle ground for both iPhoto and Aperture. It lets you browse through your photo gallery while offering some editing tools. But if you expect an extensive editing tool suite, sadly, you won't get that here.
