Leak shares more details about ‘Galaxy S10 Lite’

Render of the Galaxy S10 Lite (Ice Universe)

The leaks for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S10 line keep coming. But what we’ll be focusing on right now is the rumoured, more affordable “Galaxy S10 Lite.” Leaker Ice Universe shared more details on the iPhone XR-like Galaxy S10 Lite. The phone, unlike the upcoming S10 and S10+, reportedly won’t have a curved display but will have one that’s flat. It will feature the same primary rear camera setup of the more premium S10 models but won’t have the triple camera array. It’ll also have a single front camera, which will be placed into a smaller cutout that’s similar to what we’ve seen in the Galaxy A8s. Its in-display fingerprint sensor won’t use the same ultrasonic tech the more premium S10s will have and it’ll have the smallest display at 5.8 inches. This doesn’t seem like too bad a deal, if you ask us, so we’re excited to see the full specs of the device once it launches. Like in years’ past we’re expecting to see the Galaxy S10 line at Mobile World Congress in the end of February. So, it won’t be much of a wait until we see these new phones.

Samsung might be introducing a party trick to the Galaxy S10’s camera

We might see that illuminated ring around the upcoming Samsung flagships

The leaks for the Galaxy S10 keep coming. One of the latest ones might be more of a party trick than anything else. According to Ice Universe on Twitter, there will be an illuminated ring around the front-facing, pinhole camera. But it’ll be making its debut first in the Galaxy A8s before making its way to the S10 and S10+. Supposedly the S10 will be getting a single front-facing camera, while the S10+ will be getting dual front-facing shooters. Both will be getting the illuminated ring. It’s said the ring will glow when you fire up the camera or use facial recognition to unlock the handset. Not much else is known at this point, but it might be safe to assume these won’t be bright enough to act as a flash for the camera.

Leak shows smaller chin for the Galaxy S10+

Samsung Galaxy S10+ chin compared to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and iPhone X

The latest leak for the Galaxy S10+ is going into the minutiae of details. This time around, it’s focusing on the chin of the upcoming Samsung flagship. A new leak shows how the Galaxy S10+’s chin will compare to the iPhone X’s and the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s. The difference isn’t that significant, but you can see a slight difference—or at least you’d need to take a ruler to it. If you’ve been looking for a bigger display, looks like the upcoming Samsung might deliver.

Samsung is reportedly working on its own take to Google’s Night Sight photography feature

Is Samsung going to take on Google's Night Sight mode, which we see in action in this photo?

Samsung wants you to have a Bright Night, and by that we mean, the company looks to be working on its own take to Google’s Night Sight mode. XDA-Developers reports it has found code in the latest Android Pie Build for the Galaxy Note9 that shows a new night photography mode called Bright Night. According to the code, it will let you “take bright pictures even in very dark conditions.” Text in the code suggests it will work similarly to Night Sight by taking multiple shots and using software to combine these photos together. Samsung is known to release new photography features with its flagships, so XDA speculates we might see Bright Night in the upcoming Galaxy S10, which is scheduled for a release by the end of February 2019.
