Hasbro to release a Baby Yoda-based 'Monopoly' board game

Here's some apt Star Wars Day-related news. Hasbro is cashing in on the obsession with The Mandalorian's star The Child, a.k.a. Baby Yoda, with a Monopoly: The Child Edition board game. It won't be out until September 2020, but pre-orders are now available through Entertainment Earth, which ships internationally. The game costs US$19.99 (around CA$28.23), and each pack comes with the gameboard, four cardboard tokens with pawn stands, 18 title deed cards, 16 "Bounty Puck cards," 16 "Camtono cards," 32 plastic hideouts, 12 plastic common houses, 12 dice, a money pack, and a guide explaining how to play.

The gameplay is still relatively the same as the classic Monopoly game; you still play until one last player is left standing, and the others have gone bankrupt. You move around the gameboard as The Child; you can buy and sell hideouts and common houses; and follow the actions from the Camtono and Bounty Puck cards.

'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' to stream on Disney+ on May 4

Star Wars Day a.k.a. "May the 4th" becomes even more special. Disney+ will be home to the entire Skywalker saga as the streaming service adds Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on the said date. It's the same day the documentary series Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian and the series finale of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be airing.

With shelter in place ordered in a lot of places around the world, it seems like Disney and Lucasfilm want to take advantage of that captive audience. And while Star Wars fans can't celebrate outside of their homes, this might be the next best thing.

Disney teases 'The Mandalorian' docuseries

Disney hopes to tide over Star Wars fans who love The Mandalorian over with a behind-the-scenes look at the show. An eight-episode docuseries called Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian will be premiering on Disney+ on Star Wars Day, a.k.a. May 4. We wrote a quick story on this series the other day, but now we get a look at the series through a new teaser. We see a roundtable discussion hosted by creator and executive producer Jon Favreau talking with the creatives and stars involved with the first season. While we can't say if the second season will be discussed in the show, it's giving us a good insight into what went into making the successful first season.

'The Mandalorian' Season 3 is reportedly in the works already

Disney+'s The Mandalorian will be coming back for its second season in October. It was one of the luckier shows that were able to wrap up production in early March, ahead of shelter-in-place orders came into effect. But now we learn that a month or so after season 2 wrapped up, pre-production for season 3 has already begun. Variety claims that sources close to creator Jon Favreau can confirm that he has been "writing season 3 for a while." The art department, which is led by Lucasfilm vice president and executive creative director Doug Chiang, has also reportedly started creating concepts for the third season "for the past few weeks."

Another source claimed that the production design department started working on the upcoming season on April 20 because the department requires "such a huge lead time" to explain why "the gears have started grinding really early on."
