Temuera Morrison goes from playing the famed bounty hunter's father in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones to being the said bounty hunter in the upcoming season of Disney+'s The Mandalorian. The Hollywood Reporter cites sources that say Morrison will play Boba Fett, who first appeared on the big screen in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and then seemingly died in the last film of the original trilogy, Return of the Jedi.

Boba Fett will reportedly only have a small role in the second season. His appearance was teased in "The Gunslinger" episode of season one, where his trademark spurs were seen approaching the apparently lifeless body of Ming-Na Wen's character Fennec Shand. If his appearance happens, we aren't sure yet what will happen. The wait is also a bit long as the second season is slated to arrive on Disney+ in October.

Academy Award-winning director Taika Waititi is crossing over to another big Disney-owned franchise as he's set to direct and co-write an upcoming Star Wars film. In case you didn't know, Waititi is known for directing Marvel Cinematic Universe's Thor: Ragnarok and the upcoming Thor: Love and Thunder film. He's actually also worked in the Star Wars universe when he directed the season finale of The Mandalorian.

Waititi will co-write the film with Krysty Wilson-Cairns, who worked on Oscar-nominated movie 1917. It isn't known yet what the film will be about, but it's going to be released in theatres. There will also be a new Star Wars series coming to Disney+ that is in development from Russian Doll writer Leslye Headland. Disney and Lucasfilm haven't divulged when these projects will be launched.

Hasbro to release a Baby Yoda-based 'Monopoly' board game

Here's some apt Star Wars Day-related news. Hasbro is cashing in on the obsession with The Mandalorian's star The Child, a.k.a. Baby Yoda, with a Monopoly: The Child Edition board game. It won't be out until September 2020, but pre-orders are now available through Entertainment Earth, which ships internationally. The game costs US$19.99 (around CA$28.23), and each pack comes with the gameboard, four cardboard tokens with pawn stands, 18 title deed cards, 16 "Bounty Puck cards," 16 "Camtono cards," 32 plastic hideouts, 12 plastic common houses, 12 dice, a money pack, and a guide explaining how to play.

The gameplay is still relatively the same as the classic Monopoly game; you still play until one last player is left standing, and the others have gone bankrupt. You move around the gameboard as The Child; you can buy and sell hideouts and common houses; and follow the actions from the Camtono and Bounty Puck cards.

'Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker' to stream on Disney+ on May 4

Star Wars Day a.k.a. "May the 4th" becomes even more special. Disney+ will be home to the entire Skywalker saga as the streaming service adds Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on the said date. It's the same day the documentary series Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian and the series finale of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be airing.

With shelter in place ordered in a lot of places around the world, it seems like Disney and Lucasfilm want to take advantage of that captive audience. And while Star Wars fans can't celebrate outside of their homes, this might be the next best thing.
