Samsung Galaxy S6 devices and Note5 tipped to be getting Android Oreo update

It has been said in the past that the Galaxy S6 was going to get Android 8.0 update. Samsung customer care representatives have supposedly confirmed that the device will be getting the update and this month will be the time it rolls out. Confirming this news, the development pages for the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note5 on T-Mobile’s site say the carrier and Samsung “have agreed to support a new software update,” which is Android Oreo. Samsung hasn’t released an official announcement about this but we’ll watch for it.

Breaking: BlackBerry terminates licensing agreement with T-Mobile

BlackBerry has decided to cut ties with T-Mobile and has terminated its licensing agreement with the  4th largest US Carrier. Things came to a head recently when T-Mobile encouraged subscribers to exchange their existing BlackBerry smartphones for new non-BlackBerry devices. BlackBerry CEO John Chen, who has proven time and again that he won't stand for his company being unfairly treated, wrote a scathing post titled "BlackBerry's response to T-Mobile's anti-BlackBerry campaign," where he lambasted "T-Mobile's clearly inappropriate and ill-conceived marketing promotion."

T-Mobile backtracked, tried to placate pissed off BlackBerry supporters with a neat promo but the damage was done. Here's an example of a gimmick that backfired in T-Mobile's face.  The final word, and this isn't an April fool's joke, although the timing is rather ironic, is that BlackBerry will not renew licensing on T-Mobile.

This is the LG G-Slate, a 3D-capable Honeycomb tablet

The LG G-Slate will apparently be a T-Mobile device (which for Canadians means it should work on Wind Mobile, Videotron and Mobilicity's networks). Clearly running a variant of Android's Honeycomb OS, this 8.9-inch tablet is expected to have a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, 32GB of storage, a gyroscope and accelerometer combo plus 3D-capable stereoscopic dual-cameras in the rear (for shooting 3D videos and stills) plus a front-facing camera for video calls. You will 3D glasses to view photos and videos on the LG G-Slate's screen but it can also output regular HD video via a HDMI port. This is coming to T-Mobile in Spring.
