Quantum Break freezes time inside a burger joint in Toronto

The action-packed thriller game, Quantum Break (Xbox One and Windows 10) released this week to much excitement and to celebrate the launch, fan events were hosted in 11 Microsoft stores in the U.S. and Canada.

Here in Toronto, a curious store front opened at the busy street corner of Queen Street West and Spadina that is catching attention by those passing by.

Xbox Canada created Quantum Burger shop at the Hero Burger location. A peek through the windows and you see chaos of flying tables, chairs as if disaster had just struck and everything is frozen in time. The buzz is building on social media and we've been told that it is open until Friday -- but I suspect they may last through the weekend.

Beauty takes Uber approach with beGlammed App

A new app, beGlammed, has launched in Toronto that offers beauty services on demand. Think Uber but for hair and make up where users of the app can call upon stylists to visit their home or workplace at a tap of screen on their smart devices.

Who would use this type of service? Those who are time-crunched and need to get to events but can't get to a salon for sure (I fall into that category often). But also those who much more organized or planning out weddings, proms and other special occasions.

Foodora app and service disrupts food delivery

Foodora is one of the most disruptive and innovative services to come to Canada since Uber. Similar to what Uber has done for personal transportation, Foodora has breached a wide gap between people wanting to order food and restaurants who don't offer take out or delivery services. Formerly branded as Hurrier, Foodora's app, website and service quickly gives Canadians in Toronto and Montreal (as well as in 30 countries) access to thousands of restaurant menus, the ability to order food and have it quickly delivered by bike courier within minutes. The selection of restaurants and available cuisines is extensive.

The app is simple to use and super transparent, users can quickly order, get a summary of their expenses plus select an amount to tip the delivery person. The app is available on Android and iOS.

A warm destination is very appealing especially when we are expecting a snowstorm to hit us. A vacation can't come soon enough! While we all do our travel research as incentive to get us through the day or week, we understand that not everyone an afford a dream vacation.

Engage and Change, a charity that focuses on giving back to the homeless and less fortunate within the Greater Toronto Area has partnered with AirBnb, to show Canadians what reality is for many on our streets in the dead of winter.
