Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 Under Armour edition comes to Canada

The new Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 Under Armour edition is now available in Canada. It comes in two sizes: 40mm ($349.99) and 44mm ($379.99). It only comes in black with straps made from soft FKM rubber material with a breathable design. The wearables offer six-month, premium access to MapMyRun, which is an ecosystem experience for runners. 

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2 Under Armour edition includes unique features like cadence-based real-time coaching. It will let you set your fitness goals—including pace, distance, and duration—and provide you with audio cues and haptic feedback throughout your run. It allows you to adjust your form based on the input, and it also offers post-workout, in-depth form analysis. The watch is available at Samsung Experience Stores and online on Samsung's website.

Under Armour says data of 150 million MyFitnessPal users has been compromised

Sporting goods brand Under Armour says that 150 million user accounts of its MyFitnessPal app and service have been compromised and has asked that users with accounts and passwords on the service change passwords on other services is they are using these. Not a good look for a service that's trying to compete with the likes of Fitbit of Apple in the highly competitive fitness app space. MyFitnessPal tracks exercise and diet for a more holistic picture of a user's health.

MyFitnessPal customers got a rude awakening from Under Armour with an email stating user account information involved in the breach includes user names, email addresses, and hashed passwords, but no financial information like credit card numbers or government or identifiers like social security numbers. It seems no service is safe as millions are still reeling from the Cambridge Analytica fiasco. Companies need to do a better job at protecting user data, it needs to be a priority, otherwise the resulting loss of goodwill and trust will result in users abandoning these services in droves.

Matching his MVP-worthy skills in real life, Stephen Curry is being honored by Under Armour and 2K Sports, creators of NBA 2K16. His virtual counterpart will be getting the highest possible rating, 99, in NBA 2K16 for a limited time. Starting 3 pm PST / 6 pm EST on Thursday, May 12 and for 30 hours straight, you will get to play Curry at his max potential in the game. We can’t say what this would mean for gameplay as overall ratings are calculated based on a player’s other attributes but based on Under Armour’s announcement, he’ll be “the greatest shooter in NBA 2K history.”
