Instagram now lets Canadian users add music to Stories

After waiting years for the feature to come to Canada, Instagram and Facebook users can now add music clips to their Stories. According to Facebook, if the song you want to put has lyrics, these will automatically show up and can be used as reference points of what part of the song you want to include in your Story. The lyrics might have different animation or text styles, which you can access by tapping on them. It can be manipulated in the same way you would other stickers. The Instagram Stories question feature will now also have music, allowing your friends to reply to your query using a song from the music library.

It's now also possible for Canadians to add videos with music in the new music section on your Facebook profile. Aside from that, you can pin songs to the top of your profile, too. Facebook said it collaborated with local artists and labels to make sure Canadian artists are prominent on its platform. The new features should already be available on both platforms.

Instagram CEO addresses query about the lack of an iPad version of its app

Almost 10 years since Instagram took the world by storm, yet the now Facebook-owned social network still doesn't have an iPad app. And we get an explanation from the company's CEO Adam Mosseri. Sort of. According to Mosseri, Instagram doesn't have the resources to develop for both platforms. That might be hard to believe considering who owns the company. But Mosseri said, "We'd like to build an iPad app, but we only have so many people and lots to do, and it hasn't bubbled up as the next best thing to do yet."

Instagram has kept quiet for a while over the lack of an official iPad app. When asked why it prioritized bringing direct messages to the web over an iPad app, the company said that it thinks direct messages are important because they help users "stay in touch with people you care about." While the explanation might seem lacking, unfortunately, if you're still holding out hope, we suggest that it's time to move on.

Nintendo debuts new coral colour option for the Switch Lite

Nintendo seems to be tapping into last year's Pantone Colour of the Year (Living Coral) with the new Switch Lite colour. The portable-only console is now available in coral, which joins turqouise, yellow, and grey as options. It'll be coming to Japan on March 20, with pre-orders starting on March 7. The console's release doesn't seem to be affected by the coronavirus outbreak. It will also still be priced at 19,980 yen (around CA$241).

A Samsung Galaxy Z Flip cracks when first flipped

The Motorola Razr isn't the only one facing issues. A buyer of the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Flip found a crack on his unit the first time he flipped the phone. @mondoir on Twitter recounted, "Received my Samsung Galaxy Z Flip just now. Opened the box. Removed the protective/instruction film. Flipped the phone as you would since it's a flip phone and this happened. I heard the crack as well. Cold weather?"

Samsung has replied to his tweet asking for details. It may be cold weather, but remember the Galaxy Fold also had issues when the protective film was taken out. Perhaps, that's the same here. But again, it's disheartening to see these expensive devices easily break. It might be back to the drawing board with foldable gadgets.
