Toshiba reveals new Android tablet lineup, tips the scales with 13-inch model

 

Toshiba Canada just announced its line of Excite Android tablet lineup comprised of 13.3-inch, 10.1-inch and 7.7-inch tablets running similar hardware. Starting at $500 for the 7.7-inch and up to $750 for the 64GB 13.3-inch megalodon-sized tablet, gives users quite a range to choose from depending on their needs and their budget.

Toshiba is clearly trying to cater to the ultra-mobile user with the 7.7-inch model, business and consumers with the 10.1-inch and the home entertainment segment with the new 2.2 pound 13-inch tablet which is being pitched as a second TV. Apple opens first Retail Store in London, Ontario

Apple opened its 23rd Canadian Retail Store in Masonville Place Mall in London, Ontario. The tenth Apple Store to open in Ontario is London's first and its grand opening on Saturday was attended by 300 people. Reports from the London Free Press said that, "some travelling from as far as Port Huron, Michigan, were waiting in line, wrapped around the second floor of the mall before the store opened at 10 am.

Apple's MobileMe service goes offline on June 30

So, if you still haven't backed up, copied or downloaded all your photos, files, documents and websites on your MobileMe account, now might be a good time to do so. This past week has been a transformative one for Microsoft.  The Redmond giant previewed their unified desktop and tablet future with the Microsoft Surface announcement at an event in Hollywoog, which in itself was a loaded launch that ushered in Windows 8 on ARM as well as revealed Microsoft’s long term plans as a hardware maker.

They also held a Windows Phone 8 event in San Francisco, where they introduced fragmentation into their mobile OS by announcing a generation shift in their two-year old operating system that will make the upcoming version incompatible with present and past hardware.
