Skype introduces easier sign-ins for Android

The latest update Microsoft is pushing out for Skype is making it easier for users to log on to their accounts. Version 5.5 of the app now remembers your log in details so when you log out and just want back into Skype through your Android device, you simply need to tap the arrow. If you’re worried how much of a security risk this is, you do have options to enable having to input a password every time you try and sign in.

Aside from that, Microsoft is planning to introduce web link previews into Android as well. It’ll be coming out in the coming weeks. This feature lets you see a small preview of a link sent to you by someone while on Skype.

Security issues plaguing Flash cause Google, Mozilla to disable software

Adobe’s Flash software has made powerful enemies throughout the years. One being Steve Jobs, who refused to let Flash be made available on Apple’s devices, and fairly recently, Facebook’s top security executive Alex Stamos called for Adobe to discontinue Flash. Now, old versions of Adobe Flash are being blocked on Mozilla’s Firefox and Google’s Chrome browsers after discovering that hackers were using a security bug to hack into other people’s computers.

Leaked documents from Hacking Team, an Italian firm that sells digital surveillance tools to governments, showed they were able to exploit a flaw in Flash. Other hackers who caught sight of this document started to use it as well.

HP introduces new devices and services in preparation for Windows 10

HP’s gearing up for the release of Microsoft’s latest operating system, Windows 10, with new offerings and security solutions. One of the new security features that’ll be available on HP’s Elite line and ZBooks is the Sure Start. It’s a self-healing BIOS-level protection to make sure your BIOS hasn’t been tampered with and it can reset it to its original state if it has been messed with. This’ll work hand-in-hand with Windows 10 Enterprise’s Device Guard to prevent any security threats.

Two of the new devices HP introduced include the HP EliteBook Folio 1020 and HP Pro Tablet 608. The EliteBook Folio 1020 is a Windows 10-powered laptop and features BANG & OLUFSEN audio. It’s said to be the thinnest, lightest and most secure business-class laptop. If you need a new business slate, the Pro Tablet 608 is designed to mix productivity and portability. Pricing and availability though for both devices haven’t been announced yet.
