Pocket Casts introduces Web player for podcasts

If you are looking to continue listening to podcasts while you’re on your desktop, Pocket Casts is making things easier for you with its new Web player. It syncs with the Android and iOS versions of the app, which means you can see the podcasts you’ve subscribed to. It also shows you what you’ve listened to and what’s in progress. Of course, it will help you find new things to listen to as well. The great thing about the Web player is it will pick up where you left off with the mobile apps. However, if you’re looking for more advanced features, you won’t find that there. Plus, you have to be willing to shell out US$9. You can try it out for free with the app’s 14-day free trial.

Called Twitter Audio Cards, it lets you stream audio as you browse through the app. You just need to tap on the embedded player for it to start playing. And then you can tap on the button in the upper right-hand corner to minimize the player while it continues to play.

Facebook reportedly meets with Samsung for virtual reality

A report surfaced that Facebook and Samsung recently met up in South Korea. But before you think about whether Facebook is looking to develop another smartphone, it looks like they would rather focus on a new product segment. The two tech giants are reportedly talking about virtual reality technology. As you know, Oculus VR is owned by Facebook and it looks like they are helping Samsung develop its Gear VR headset. Samsung is said to launch the Gear VR in December. We have to wait and see if the Gear VR would bring Samsung the success it has brought them in the tablet and smartphone market.
