BlackBerry tipped to bring Blend feature to other platforms

BlackBerry has been known to keep their software exclusive to their platform but it seems they are finally learning to open up and their starting with a new feature they’ll be introducing. Called BlackBerry Blend, the function will reportedly let users access their work and personal messages, calendars, contacts, and the like as long as BlackBerry devices are connected. It will reportedly be part of the OS 10.3 update. It is also rumoured they will be bringing this feature to iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. What do you guys think about this? If the rumours are true, is this a feature you think you’ll be using?

Google’s Project Ara might become cheaper with new processor

Google’s modular phone needed a processor that will play nicely with the concept. The tech giant has found something in the form of a Rockchip processor. The company is developing a system-on-chip with modular tech built-in. This will allow you to switch processors on a whim and makes the possibility of having an inexpensive handset come true. But we’d have to wait until next year when the Project Ara prototypes arrive.

Specs of the Moto X+1 resurface online

Brazilian retailer Livraria Logos has put up product pages for the Moto X+1 and while there aren’t any images, they do have some features we could expect from the leaked Motorola device. The product pages say it will have a 5.2-inch display, unnamed 2.2GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of storage, 2GB of memory, and a 13-megapixel camera. It will run on Android 4.4.4 and will come in black, bamboo, and leather backing. It carries the model name XT1097, which according to benchmarks that surfaced earlier this month it has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor. Wooden backplates are definitely exciting but leather is even more luxurious and really pushes the envelope for smartphone design.

Samsung debuts 3-in-1 micro USB cable

Want to make the most out of a single wall outlet or charger? Samsung has a solution for you: a 3-in-1 micro USB cable. As its name states, the US$40 cable will let you charge three micro USB-powered devices at the same time. This will be a perfect travel companion, we are going to admit. However, you must remember that the split nature of the cables mean power is split evenly between three devices so it will take you longer to charge your gadgets.
