1Password can securely share files, documents with a link

Source: 1Password

1Password's update now lets you securely share files and documents you store in the app using a link. The method will be similar to its password-sharing feature. You can share it with anyone through the link, even if they don't have a 1Password account. You can set an expiry date and restrict access by requiring people to verify their email address with a one-time code to view the file.

The shared file will be displayed on 1Password's site, and recipients can copy fields, download files, or save items into their 1Password account. The sharing process is similar to how you'll invite someone to a Google Drive file, but the link won't last forever, and you can improve control over who can view the item. Recipients can now see shared items in their preferred language. And senders can share files with a company's email domain while requiring recipients to verify their email addresses.

Did you know you can try out paid iOS apps for free?

Hoping to get you to use subscription-based apps, Apple is highlighting apps that come with free trials. At the moment, you get four of these apps: 1Password, USA Today, Lake: Coloring Books, and Panna Video Recipes. You can check these out through the Try It For Free section in the iOS App Store (located in the Apps tab). The App Store highlights the free trial offered by these apps. If you opt for the free trial, you be taken to the “Subscription Offer” screen where you’ll be informed of how long the trial runs for, the price after the trial, and how you can download the app.

1Password for Android update introduces new Material Design look

1Password overhauls its Android app to match the Material Design look the operating system has going. Aside from that though, 1Password update its app to introduce a new fingerprint unlock feature. This lets you unlock both the app and the 1Password keyboard using your phone's built-in fingerprint scanner. Wi-Fi Sync has also been improved, a new toolbar runs across the entire app, and there are new icons for categories and settings. Those who use 1Password for Teams are also supported in the app albeit in beta.
