CES 2013: Samsung ups the ante on SmartTVs in Las Vegas with quad-core processors and apps

Samsung didn't go for the jugular during their yearly CES press event earlier today. They could have announced a new killer smartphone or even a new Phablet. Instead, they noted that the Samsung Galaxy S3 was the world's best selling smartphone and then went on to talk about HDTVs, appliances, cameras and their quest to reinvent HDTV with apps and quad core processors.

CES 2013: Canon to challenge smartphones with PowerShot N

What can digital camera manufacturers do to keep users interested when everyone's moving to smartphones as their point-and-shoot camera of choice. Canon has created an entirely new product called the PowerShot N which has a squarish and compact shape, features easy operation and has WiFi built in. The PowerShot N is expected to ship next month and will cost $300. A little steep for what it is but you do get 8x optical zoom, a 2.8 swiveling touch screen and the ability to shoot HD video.

CES 2013: ASUS yields new crop of Windows 8 notebooks and desktops

Few manufacturers have embraced Windows 8 and all its varied permutations as fondly as ASUS which already had a heady selection of PCs prior to CES 2013.
