LG brings a 240Hz OLED panel to its UltraGear gaming monitors

Ahead of CES 2023, LG has shown off a couple of its newest UltraGear OLED gaming monitors. The company boasts that these are the first gaming monitors with a 240Hz OLED panel. The 27- and 45-inch models promise a record-breaking response time of less than 0.03 milliseconds Gray-to-Gray.

The 27-inch LG UltraGear 27GR95QE gets features like a QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution OLED display, 98.5% DCI-P3 colour gamut, support for NVIDIA G-SYNC, FreeSync Premium, and VESA Adaptive Sync, and more. It has an Anti-glare and Low Reflection panel for distraction-free gaming and supports HDMI 2.1 specifications and DisplayPort 1.4 connectivity. This monitor incorporates a 4-pole headphone jack that allows you to relish the realistic, spatial sound of DTS Headphone:X.

Sonos starts bringing Trueplay EQ to the latest iPhones

Sonos hasn't brought its custom EQ software to the iPhone 14 or 14 Pro when it first came out. But now, it looks like Trueplay has finally made its way to the newest iPhones. Trueplay on many Sonos speakers requires compatible iOS devices to work. And now, iPhone 14 owners can take advantage of the feature. It is still listed as coming to the iPhone 14/14 Pro, but 9to5Mac has spotted it in the wild. They claim the feature even works on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Microsoft Authenticator for Apple Watch will be discontinued in Jan. 2023

Microsoft's two-step verification app, Microsoft Authenticator, will be one of the latest apps to leave the watchOS App Store. The company will release an update next month to remove the companion app for watchOS. According to Microsoft, the Apple Watch operating system is "incompatible with Authenticator security features." If you already have the app on your Apple Watch, you'll still need to delete it since it won't work after January. The iPhone and iPad versions of the app will still be available for iOS users.

13" MacBook Air with OLED screen rumoured to launch in 2024

If you've been waiting for a new MacBook Air with an OLED screen, you'll have to wait until 2024. At least that's what display industry consultant Ross Young suggests. He shared rumoured Apple plans to introduce a new 13-inch MacBook Air with an OLED display in 2024. Young has also mentioned an 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros with OLED screens coming in the same year. Young has previously mentioned all three devices will support ProMotion with up to 120Hz refresh rate.
