CinemaNow launches Disc to Digital Service in Canada with Best Buy and Future Shop

CinemaNow launched its Disc to Digital Service in downtown Toronto earlier today. The event, sponsored by Best Buy and Future Shop, feature a panel that included Loveena Chera, Director of CinemaNow Canada, Brian Humes, Executive Vice President - Canada & United Kingdom 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Edward Han, Vice President, Digital Account Management, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, John Melluso, Vice President, Sales, Universal Studios Canada Inc and Aksel Lielmanis, Executive Director, New Release Marketing Warner Bros. Entertainment Canada Inc.

Apple media invite points to a September 10 iPhone launch event

Apple has just sent out media invites to a September 10 event to be held in Cupertino for what many expect to be an iOS and iPhone related event. The invite has a variety of colourful circles in red, orange, blue, purple, yellow and white and has the text "This should brighten everyone's day." Among the products expected from Apple are an updated iPhone 5 as well as the long rumoured lower cost iPhone.  iOSRemember, Apple's CEO Tim Cook promised lots of surprises for Fall and it looks like Apple is finally ready to showcase some cool new products. HTC strong showing at IFA yields new Desires and blue HTC ones

HTC's been busy at IFA in Berlin and just announced the addition of the HTC Desire 601 and HTC Desire 300 as well as vivid blue coloured variants of the popular HTC One and HTC One mini. Continuing its focus on music and audio, HTC also outed a new HTC BoomBass subwoofer. No Canadian timing or availability has been discussed.

A glimpse into the future of Windows Phone by way of leaked Lumia 1520 screen

While the world is still reeling from the recent news that Microsoft now owns Nokia's devices business, a leaked photo from tipster extraordinaire @evleaks shows a screenshot of the "Bandit" or the 1080p (1,080 x 1,920) device. More importantly, we see a glimpse of the new Windows Phone interface with various live tile sizes. There's definitely a future for Lumia in Microsoft, so lets hope the renewed synergy will continue to produce remarkable results.
