Samsung Galaxy S9’s key specs get leaked by carrier

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy S9 at its own Unpacked event in Barcelona ahead of MWC 2018

There’s a bit of déjà vu happening here after one of the largest mobile carriers in the world accidentally leaked yet again the key specs of Samsung’s upcoming flagship, the Galaxy S9. Orange’s Romanian division, who also previously listed the Galaxy Note8 ahead of Samsung’s official launch, published the product page of the Galaxy S9. It was quickly pulled but the original details were still viewable thanks to web caching.

What was seen on the product page was Samsung sticking with the 5.8-inch Quad HD OLED "Infinity Display" seen on the Galaxy S8 and it still has the rear camera sporting an f/1.5 – f/2.4 aperture and OIS. There were also a couple of inaccuracies seen on the page. One is it lists the Galaxy S8’s chipset the Exynos 8895 and it supposedly has 3D Touch, which is an Apple brand name and is technology not expected to be seen on the Galaxy S9.

Samsung Galaxy S6 devices and Note5 tipped to be getting Android Oreo update

It has been said in the past that the Galaxy S6 was going to get Android 8.0 update. Samsung customer care representatives have supposedly confirmed that the device will be getting the update and this month will be the time it rolls out. Confirming this news, the development pages for the Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+, and Note5 on T-Mobile’s site say the carrier and Samsung “have agreed to support a new software update,” which is Android Oreo. Samsung hasn’t released an official announcement about this but we’ll watch for it.

‘Kingdom Hearts III’ still doesn’t have a release date, enters ‘Monsters Inc.’ world

For fans of the game, we finally have some updates for the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III game. Square Enix unveiled a new trailer and song for the title during D23 Expo Japan 2018, whetting our appetites for its impending release. Unfortunately, we don’t get an exact date yet of when the game is coming out. All the teasers still have “Coming 2018.” Square Enix CEO Yosuke Matsuda hinted that the release could come at or before E3 conference in June, so we could expect the game to be out for the holidays. The game will be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

What we do get is a new trailer. As we see in the clip above, there’s a new world coming to this popular Disney x Final Fantasy crossover: the Monsters Inc. world. The game also gets a new theme song from Japanese Pop superstar Hikaru Utada called “Don’t Think Twice.” She has also done the theme songs for the first two games. Series director Tetsuya Nomura showed some behind-the-scenes clips at D23 that detailed the production and design of Kingdom Hearts III. One thing showed was how you can fly the Gummi ship through an open-world, 360-degree space.
