Rdio slashes prices for Family Plan

In another move to take advantage of the Spotify-Taylor Swift debacle, Rdio is reducing prices for its Family Plan. Starting at $14.99 for a family of two, succeeding members will only add $5 to your bill. This will support up to a family of five. This plan is like those on other streaming services that will let sub-accounts keep their playlists and favorites separate. Rdio says they’ve already began rolling out the new prices globally.

Make highlight reels with Microsoft Movie Creator

It’s not exactly new but if you wanted a native highlight reel generator on Windows Phone, Microsoft is introducing Movie Creator. Like the others, it’ll let you put together your favorite photos and clips to highlight specific events you want to share with others. You can choose up to 25 videos and images to include in your reels. Microsoft, however, promises there will be more customization features to their app and an easier user experience. It will also be free. The app is now up for beta and can be downloaded for Lumia devices, Surface tablets, and the Lumia 2520.

VSCO Cam brings app to iPad, introduces new publishing platform

Taking advantage of the Apple iPad’s larger screens, VSCO is bringing its app to the iPad. VSCO Cam 4.0 for iOS is available as an update for iOS devices. What does it bring Apple users? Aside from being able to easily edit photos, VSCO users can now sync photos between devices, upload photos via the Web, and use VSCO’s publishing platform they call VSCO Journal.

The sync feature works between iOS and Android versions of the app, so you can take photos on your phone and edit those on your tablet. The Web uploader will make it easier to import your DSLR shots into your VSCO account. And if you want to have a platform to share more of your VSCO images, they now have the VSCO Journal that supports journal entries with multiple photos. Journal started out as an internal tool and they are now bringing the image-heavy story-telling platform to their users.
