Motorola's new Alert app can notify your contacts in case of emergencies

Motorola has been making bespoke apps for its smartphones for some time now. Some are whimsical like the Spotlight Stories but others like Migrate and Assist are extremely useful. Starting with the new Moto G (LTE) and Moto E smartphones, Motorola is enabling a new Alert app that can notify contacts or emergency services of your emergency and your location. Think of it as a smart panic button. It's a smart application that we all wish we never had to use but can be thankful we have it when the unexpected happens.

Chromium code review reportedly shows Nexus 6 and 8

Rumours have been swirling that we’re seeing the end of the Nexus line but until that is confirmed other reports claim new Nexus devices are on its way in the coming months. Android Headlines cites Dutch website SmartDroid.de on a report that there will be a new Nexus 8 and Nexus 6. These devices reportedly showed up on a Chromium code review.

The Nexus 8 has long been reported to be an 8.9-inch tablet made by HTC. It is expected to make its debut at the upcoming Google I/O or a bit after that. Meanwhile, the Nexus 6 is a new device to make its rounds in the rumour mill. This doesn’t mean that this will be a 6-inch device from Google and its chosen manufacturer or it could be. But perhaps it will carry the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and 3GB of RAM. We will keep you posted to confirm or debunk these rumours when we hear more.
