Canada gears up for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders starting April 9

Canadian gamers can pre-order the Nintendo Switch 2 starting April 9 from retailers like Walmart Canada ahead of its June 5 launch. The console is priced at $630 or $700 with Mario Kart World.
Key new features include a larger 7.9-inch 1080p LCD screen (up to 4K/60fps docked), 256GB expandable storage, and Joy-Con 2 controllers that can function as a mouse and include a dedicated GameChat button.
GameChat—free until March 2026—allows in-game voice/text chat, and GameShare will enable sharing games with friends. The Switch 2 boasts significantly improved performance via a custom Nvidia processor, enhanced stereo and 3D audio, and a redesigned dock with a cooling fan.
Backward compatibility with most Switch games is confirmed, and Nintendo Switch Online will add GameCube titles. New accessories include a Pro Controller, carrying cases, and an optional camera.
