For the second time around, Lucifer is meeting its end. Variety confirmed that the show is ending its run in its fifth season. The series previously aired on Fox for three seasons before Netflix picked it up for a recently released fourth season. According to a statement from a Netflix spokesperson, ““We’re thrilled that ‘Lucifer’ fans around the world have embraced this series on Netflix, and we can’t wait to give them the big finish they’ve all been waiting for.”

Lucifer follows Tom Ellis as the titular fallen angel who works with the LAPD to take down criminals. The series also stars Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Rachael Harris, D.B. Woodside, and Scarlett Estevez. It’s produced by Warner Bros. Television in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Television. It’s characters are based on those created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo from DC Entertainment.

DC Universe cancels ‘Swamp Thing’ after debuting the first episode of season 1

CREDIT: WARNER BROS. TELEVISION

Just fresh out of the swamp, the Swamp Thing will have to return there after this season is over. Based on the DC Comics characters created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson, the one-hour drama series follows CDC researcher Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed), who returns home to Houma, Louisiana to investigate a lethal swamp-borne virus. She gets involved with scientist Alec Holland but later finds him tragically taken from her. As she investigates the swamp and its mysterious properties, she discovers that there’s something mystical happening and her boyfriend might not be dead after all.

The series also stars Virginia Madsen, Andy Bean, Derek Mears, Henderson Wade, Maria Sten, Jeryl Prescott, and Will Patton. Mark Verheiden and Gary Dauberman serve as writers and executive producers alongside James Wan and Michael Clear, who are executive producing through Wan’s Atomic Monster banner. Atomic Monster’s Rob Hackett also serves as a co-producer. Wan’s production outfit produces the series in association with Warner Bros. Television. With Warner Bros set to launch its own streaming service before the year ends, it seems the company is questioning both the content it puts out and what it is going to do with its DC Universe streaming platform. We're sure to get updates as time goes by.

The use of Sidecar in macOS Catalina is limited to newer Macs (at least for now)

While we don’t know if this will be the case with the final version of macOS Catalina, for now, the Sidecar feature is limited to a small number of newer Mac devices. Sidecar lets macOS 10.15 turn your iPad into a second display for your Mac. But as mentioned, at the moment this includes the 27-inch iMac from late 2015, 2016 MacBook Pro, 2018, Mac mini, the new Mac Pro, 2018 MacBook Air, early 2016 MacBook, as well as newer models of each product. According to developer Steve Troughton-Smith, who is looking through the first developer beta of the platform, a blacklist also exists, which prevents Sidecar from being used on older models.

But he found a terminal command that could allow Sidecar on older devices. The command reads: “defaults write com.apple.sidecar.display allowAllDevices -bool YES”. While we don’t know why Apple is limiting Sidecar to a few devices now, we’re hoping this is just for the first release of the beta and that devices will be added later on.

One of the great news from the transition into macOS Catalina is that there are a lot of devices that will support this new version. Plus, it brings a bunch of new features to Apple’s desktop platform. For one, iTunes is being split into dedicated apps: one for Apple Music, Apple Podcast, Apple Books, and Apple TV. Another is Project Catalyst, which will make it easier for developers to port iPad apps to macOS Catalina. Version 10.15 will also let you use the iPad as a second screen.
