iOS 8 begins rolling out to iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches

Today's a great day for many iOS users looking to enjoy the biggest and most dramatic functional update to Apple's mobile operating system. iOS 8 started appearing as a free downloadable option on compatible iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches.

The update showd up just after 1 p.m. EST. On my iPhone 5s, the size of the download was 1.1GB and it says it would take around an hour to complete the download, possibly more for the whole update process. iOS 8 will be covered in a separate review but it is the most dramatic functional update to iOS and will bring some cool new functions like Continuity with OS X Yosemite, HealthKit and HomeKit integration plus various welcome add ons like third-party keyboards.

iOS 8 is compatible with iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad Air, iPad mini, iPad mini with Retina display and the iPod touch 5th generation.

The Runstastic Orbit is slightly larger than the Fitbit Flex but it has a button for control as well as a display. These two features make all the difference.

Review: iPhone 6 Plus

The iPhone 6 Plus is the biggest departure for Apple’s iOS-powered smartphone line in seven years, and for what has remained as one of the most conservative screen sizes in the industry.

Review: iPhone 6

Text and photos Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Marrying stunning hardware with killer software has been Apple's way, and the iPhone 6, it's most important product, moves the ecosystem forward in terms of device, software (iOS 8, OS X) and services (iCloud, Continuity, Apple Pay).

Apple’s popular iPhone hit its landmark 7th year and counters the challenge posed by competitors on a number of fronts.

iPhone 6 features an all-new seamless unibody design, a second generation  64-bit A8 processor and M8 coprocessor, a new camera sensor with enhanced video features and better focus and low light performance, NFC for payments, a Barometer, as well as the most LTE bands (20) on any smartphone in the market.
