This weekend has been a Microsoft Windows 8 frenzy and it is not over yet. From the desktop focus now shifts to smartphones with the release of Windows Phone 8. I was quite apprehensive about upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8. My main PC is a Lenovo ThinkPad X220, which wasn't designed with the touch-happy OS in mind and it ran Windows 7 just fine. Did I really need to jump on Windows 8?

It's about that time of year when the new Nexus smartphone is introduced, usually with Google's latest and greatest Android OS. Thanks to some product support manuals leaked by LG's Australian and UK websites, we now have a better idea of what to expect in the coming week when Google launches its new line of Nexus smartphones.
While the support website has been taken down, the support manual gives us the goods on the new device. It will ship with either 8GB or 16GB of storage, feature inductive charging and no microSD expansion. In terms of specs, the Nexus 4 is a beast and seems to share many of the great features of the LG Optimus G (quad-core processor, great camera).

The new iPad mini and 4Th Generation iPad are now available for preorder for November 2 availability You can now choose from Wi-Fi models that will be available in black & slate or white & silver.
The diminuitive iPads pack the power and features of the iPad 2 in a smaller and lighter package. Suggested retail price is $329 (CAD) for the 16GB model, $429 (CAD) for the 32GB model and $529 (CAD) for the 64GB model. The WiFi + 4G iPad mini models will come in late November.
