Facebook finally optimizes apps for iPhone XS Max, XR, and iPad Pros

It’s taken them a few months but it’s finally here. Facebook has updated its iOS apps to support the higher resolutions of the bigger iPhone XS Max and XR as well as the newest 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models. The iPhone versions now run at their native resolutions, instead of having to use a scaled up version of the iPhone XS app. For the iPad version, the black bars that the app used to show are now gone. But as The Verge notes, the usable space of the app is still the same on the iPad.

Muse’s ‘Simulation Theory’ album artwork was made with the Apple iPad Pro and Pencil

Sometimes we forget how powerful the tools we carry are and it takes some skilled hands to remind us. Artist Kyle Lambert just showed us what he can do with an iPad Pro and Apple Pencil when he designed the new album artwork for the English rock band Muse. Looking at the webpage for the band’s new album Simulation Theory, we see that the artwork and even video teaser have been made with the Apple products. You can see how the album artwork was done in the video above. Lambert is known for doing artwork for major films and TV shows like Stranger Things and Jurassic Park.

New iPad Pro ads puts the spotlight on its augmented reality feature and the Apple Pencil

For some reason, she stops and decides to whip out her iPad Pro to show off how augmented reality can work in this scene. She drops some furniture around him. The short 15-second ad ends with the tagline: “A new way to augment reality.” The description in the video’s YouTube page says, “With iPad Pro + iOS 11, you can use augmented reality to literally transform the world around you. Your next computer might not be a computer.”
