Apple iPadOS might launch later due to issues with Stage Manager

Source: Apple

While we're expecting new Apple products in October, iPadOS might roll out a bit later. Bloomberg reports that Apple might delay the release by a month. It will go against Apple's typical style of releasing a new version of its operating system alongside the latest products.

The delay is supposedly due to the Stage Manager feature, which expands the multitasking capabilities of the iPad. It will let you group several windows into "piles" and keeps all the windows open in a tab on the left. It's already available in beta versions of iPadOS and macOS, but the iPadOS version is too buggy and confusing that Apple needs to rework it.

No, we aren't talking about iOS 15 or any other next-generation operating system upgrade from Apple. But you will need to update your devices to the latest updates to patch up a security flaw in your Apple gadgets. The company has released an emergency update to patch the security flaw that allowed Israel's NSO Group's Pegasus spyware to infect a target's Apple device, including all the devices we've mentioned in the title.

Security researchers from the University of Toronto's Citizen Lab discovered and released a report detailing the exploit. Apple was notified about the exploit on September 7 and worked out that fix until today's release. While you might not be a target of these malicious entities, it's best to update, so you don't leave your gadgets vulnerable.

Apple brings back old Safari tab design in latest macOS Monterey beta update

When Apple released the macOS Monterey beta, one of the things the company changed was removing the tabs bar in Safari. Engadget pointed out that it made sorting tabs messy and tedious, even if it allowed for more screen space to website content. Apple listened to users and brought back the standalone Tab bar with the latest macOS beta update. It will be enabled by default like it was on Big Sur.

You can now use the iPad's handwriting feature in Canadian French

Source: Apple

The latest developer beta version of iPadOS adds new language support for the iPad's handwriting feature, which means more users can get more out of the Apple Pencil. The languages supported include Canadian French, Italian, Portuguese, French, German, and Spanish.

Through the beta, you can now use Scribble to write in any text field using these languages. It also supports Smart Selection, meaning you can easily select, cut, and paste words from one document to another and have your written note appear as typed text. And the iPad's data detectors will also now work with handwritten text in these languages so the system can recognize things like phone numbers, dates, and addresses and make it easier to do quick action with these pieces of information.
