Broadcom CEO suggests delay of 2020 Apple iPhone launch

Apple parts supplier Broadcom claims the company will be releasing the 2020 iPhone a bit later than usual. According to comments from Broadcom CEO Hock Tan during the company's recent quarterly earnings call, the next-generation iPhone's release will be pushed back by a few weeks. Apple hasn't released any statements yet regarding this possible delay.

Apple's World Wide Developer's Conference will take place as an Online Event on June 22

With standing shelter-in-place (SIP) and lockdown initiatives in place to keep people safe and flatten the curve during this COVID-19 pandemic, many of the major product launches and massive developer events have either been cancelled, postponed, or moved online in some form or another. Apple's World Wide Developer's Conference, which Canadian Reviewer has covered live various times in the past, will be reimagined as an online-only event to faciliate remote meeting protocols and keep developers and Apple employees safe. 

Apple today announced it will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference virtually, beginning June 22, in the Apple Developer app and on the Apple Developer website for free for all developers. This makes WWDC, which previously used a lottery system to limit the number of attendees, a lot more inclusive.

Apple refreshes MacBook Air with new keyboards, Mac mini now has twice the storage

Apple today launched updated MacBook Airs now featuring the updated scissor-type keyboard that it re-introduced with the 16-inch MacBook Pro. Also launched today were new Mac mini desktops that now feature double the the storage space.

Apple expands Recycling Programs with more drop-off locations for used devices

Apple released its 2019 Environment report, which contains additional information on the company’s climate change solutions, including its recent announcement that 44 of its suppliers have committed to 100 percent renewable energy for their Apple production. The report can be viewed at apple.com/ca/environment. The company will be celebrating Earth Day on April 22 with environmentally themed Today at Apple sessions at all Apple Stores, and will be featuring original stories and collections of apps and games on the App Store to help people honour the Earth and consider their role in the natural ecosystem.
