Pinterest brings Barbie's DreamHouse inspo to life with Restyle

If you grew up playing with Barbie, chances are you spent a little time dreaming up your own perfect DreamHouse. Now, fans of Barbie can bring some of that childhood imagination into your own home! To celebrate the new DreamHouse, Pinterest has introduced a fun new experience through Restyle, powered by Pinterest Intelligence, that lets you reimagine your space and play around with different design styles before deciding on your favourite.

All you need to do is upload a photo of your room and let the fun begin. In seconds, you can transform your space with one of five DreamHouse-inspired looks: mid-century Americana, chalet chic, superstar glam,  or modern coastal. You can find the experience through Barbie’s Pinterest profile, where official Barbie content, search terms and curated boards offer plenty of inspiration. Once you’ve found a look you love, you can even add or swap out decor with Barbie-approved finds to make the space your own. Because who says we have to outgrow our DreamHouse dreams?

Apple Arcade adds exclusive content for 'Hello Kitty Island Adventure,' 'Disney SpellStruck'

Apple is rolling out fresh updates for a few games on Apple Arcade, including the "climactic conclusion" to the City Town storyline for Hello Kitty Island Adventure. "Hello Kitty and Usahana must team up to rescue a new friend," as Apple described in its press release. The update will be released on April 16.

Mattel partners with OpenAI for generative AI-powered toys

Looks like even toys can't escape artificial intelligence disruption. Mattel is collaborating with OpenAI to create AI-powered products and experiences with Mattel's brands, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, American Girl, and more. The brands are expected to release their first product later in 2025, with Mattel emphasizing that the AI integrated into its toys and games would be done so safely and securely.

On the corporate side, Mattel intends to use OpenAI's business tools, including ChatGPT Enterprise, to assist with product development.

HMD's Barbie flip phone is official

We knew it was coming, but now it's officially here! HMD has unveiled its Barbie Phone, a hot pink flip phone for those exhausted from being constantly exposed to social media. This feature phone goes hard on the Barbie branding from the colour scheme, the Barbie logo on the back of the phone, the iconography on the keyboard, and its many accessories.

The feature phone has a pair of customizable back covers, a beaded wrist strap, and stick-on gems and stickers associated with the Barbie brand. The phone itself features a 2.8-inch screen with a Barbie-themed UI (including a Snake game that gets the Barbie treatment), a T9 keyboard, and a 0.3-megapixel camera with built-in flash.
