Facebook rolls out official Windows 8.1 app

Facebook has unveiled its official Windows 8.1 application in time for the recent release of the operating system upgrade. It has all the features you’d expect from a Facebook app but with a few Windows functionalities. It has Share Charm support, letting you attach the photo you’re viewing on Facebook as an email attachment. It also has search support and Snap Views but only up to 40 percent of the app window.

Facebook for BlackBerry gets update, adds chat improvements, link previews, in-app post deletion

Facebook has released version 10.2.2. for its BlackBerry 10 app with some new features. The new app version includes sharing updates from your friends and pages to your wall or other places on Facebook, adding friends to group chats, preview links before posting, viewing app and videos in landscape, and deleting posts within the mobile application.

Facebook takes out Timeline search auto-hide option

Facebook seems to be taking out a few features from both its purchased business and main application. The social network site will be taking out the option for users to opt out of being searched by others on the website. The removal of the “Who can look up your Timeline by name?” has been taken out for those who wanted to a few months ago. Now, all users can't hide themselves for Timeline search. If you want to avoid being searched by others, you are going to have to block them individually.

Facebook for Windows Phone gets multiple photo uploading and unfriending

A new update for the Facebook Windows Phone app introduces the ability to attach multiple photos into a single post and allows you to “unlike” content or “unfriend” people right from your smartphone. The app is also now available in 19 different languages.
