Google Maps for iOS can now receive destination info from your desktop

Want to make it easier to find that new restaurant you saw while surfing on your PC? Google updated its Google Maps for iOS to help you send directions from your PC to your iPhone. You’ll need to be signed into Google on both your desktop and iPhone while using Maps. Now, if you’re searching for the restaurant on your Google Maps on desktop, there should be an option to “Send to device.” When you do that, you’ll get a notification on your phone that comes with options for getting directions or to allow navigation.

Bungie and Google give you a sneak peek of the worlds in ‘Destiny’

Just a few days ahead of its September 9 release, Bungie is creating more hype for its game with its collaboration with Google Maps team. While it will only give you a partial view of the worlds, we think it’ll be enough to drum up further excitement about the game for those who are waiting for it.

Amplifon adds ambient sound to Google Maps Street View

Amplifon – Sounds of Street View from Amplifon UK on Vimeo.

Amplifon is looking to completely immerse you (virtually, at least) into the world with a new feature added to Google Maps Street View. Sounds of Street View adds sound into the mix and it isn’t just one specific soundtrack per place. The noise and sound changes depending on what you are viewing. If you are near a bustling café, it will get a bit louder. You can hear church bells chime as well as traffic pass by.
