Review: Amazon Kindle Oasis

I brought the newest version of the Amazon Kindle Oasis (3rd generation) on my most recent getaway. A family member had questioned why I would bring another device when I could bring my phone and pretty much do everything on it. While I can add the Kindle app onto my iPhone and take it on the go, the truth is, I like to separate my enjoyment of reading from any tasks I do on my phone. This also means I less distractions and I can stay more focused on the book. I'm too easily tempted to check my emails or Instagram or Telegram on a whim. There. I admit it. Houston, we have a problem, that's a post for another time.

BlackBerry to add Amazon's App Store to BB10 devices

Make do with what you have. That seems to be BlackBerrys approach to bolstering the offerings on BB10. While new apps on their mobile platform may not be arriving as quickly, possibly because developers are vacillating on whether continuing to produce software for a platform that's shifting away from consumers and towards enterprise. The good news is BlackBerry is open to partnerships from exisiting third-party app providers like Amazon which hosts over 24,000 apps for its Kindle readers as well as the rumoured Kindle phone. Kobo Arc reader updated to Android OS 4.1 "Jelly Bean"

Looks like Kobo is doing a better job than some Smartphone manufacturers in keeping up with the times. Kobo customers will now have an optimized user experience with Jelly Bean 4.1. The firmware will update to Kobo Arc customers when they next connect to Wi Fi. Hit jump for all the new features and refinements.
