Samsung Canada teases upcoming Galaxy S series launch with BTS concert giveaway

Planning on picking up one of Samsung's next-generation smartphones? Why not try to get your hands on concert tickets, too? That's the opportunity Samsung Canada is giving interested buyers and fans of BTS. All you have to do is register and complete a short survey through Samsung's Unpacked page.

Once you've signed up, you're registered for a sweepstakes to win two tickets to see BTS in Toronto in August. Plus, you will receive a $50 Galaxy e-voucher to apply to your purchase. This "register to buy" promo runs until February 24 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked will stream live globally on February 25, via Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom and Samsung’s YouTube channel.

You can watch Samsung's Unpacked keynote in VR

Source: Samsung

If you're invested in the metaverse, Samsung will let you watch its upcoming Unpacked event in virtual reality. The company will let you watch the event at 837X, a recreation of its flagship New York City store location within the virtual reality platform Decentraland.

As Engadget pointed out, Samsung hasn't made any recent advancements in the VR space. In fact, it announced plans to retire its Gear VR headset back in December without plans for a replacement. So, we aren't sure what benefits you'll have from watching the Unpacked event on Wednesday in virtual reality. But, if you just wanted to catch the event differently, you have that option.

Samsung's Unpacked event on Oct. 20 to focus on 'self-expression'

Samsung has another Unpacked event up its sleeve, but we aren't sure what it will be about. The Unpacked Part 2 will happen on October 20 at 10 a.m. Eastern. Samsung hasn't shared what the event will cover, but it said the company will talk about "self-expression through technology." Samsung app icons (like Health and SmartThings) show up in the teaser in pastel-coloured boxes.

Previous rumours claim Samsung is ready to release a Galaxy S21 FE model, but it isn't clear if that is coming out this year. It might be that Samsung will focus on its software and services this time. The company has been pushing to expand platforms like Health. And with the company scrapping ads in its One UI apps, there might be some new changes to the operating system Samsung wants to share.
