Read on your Android Wear smartwatch with PaperWear

Extending functionality of smartwatches further is a new app for Android Wear. PaperWear will let you read top news articles right on the device. It pulls articles from sites like Medium.com, qz.com, Vox.com, etc. and it refreshes content every 12 hours to keep you updated. If reading gets a bit challenging, you can prompt it to save the article to be read later, which means you can read it right on your smartphone.

Open shared Dropbox links within mobile apps

Dropbox has updated its Android and iOS apps to make it easier to open shared links within the app. If you get sent a Dropbox link and you open it on your phone or tablet, it will open the said file or folder right within the app instead of through the mobile browser. If the document is already linked to your account, it will just take you to the account to do more with the file like rename it, favorite it for offline access, move it, etc. And if it’s a Microsoft Office file, it can be edited right from Office apps.

Google pulls Sparrow email app from App Store

Google seems to be shaking off more of its extra weight with the latest app it has pulled from the Apple App Store for iOS and OS X. The Sparrow app was a Google acquisition and like most of its purchases, updates have stopped coming in for the app. Google hasn’t made any official statements about the app being pulled. But you can see this as Google working to push Inbox forward and see how contextual email will work. Have you been a user of Sparrow? What will you miss about the service?
