Steam improves discoverability, tempts you with more games you might like

Steam wants to make sure it is easier for you to splurge on games with a new discoverability engine. You get a new homepage that shows you personalized recommendations based on the games you play and curators you follow. This homepage is customizable so if there are games you don’t have any interest in, you can take them out. There is also a new “discovery queue” list as well where you can mark games you want to add to your wish list or take out those you don’t want.

If you want to gain a following on the site, you can act as a curator on the site. You just need a YouTube group and users can follow your group for recommendations. Developers can also check out where their titles show up to help them improve marketing.

Evernote for Mac gets image resizing feature, Spotlight search for notes

Evernote is adding more functionality to its Mac app with a new list of features. Users can resize images dynamically. You just need to grab the bottom right corner and resize accordingly. You can also search within notes using OS X’s Spotlight feature, which would come in handy when you can find bits of information tucked away within your notebooks.

The app also gets better syncing capabilities, improved tables tool, and bigger checkboxes. In-app search also shows results based on relevancy. According to Evernote’s Vice President of Market Andrew Sinkov, they also remedied over 500 bugs and 200 different crashes with this latest update.

Get your unnoticed Instagram photos some love with No Likes Yet

If you think you have treasure trove of unloved but decent/great Instagram photos (or you just have really that much confidence in your shots but no one has noticed yet), then it’s time for some shameless promotion on No Likes Yet. The site showcases posts that haven’t been liked yet. It is an amalgam of weirdly cropped or downright strange photos that have slipped through the crevices of Instagram’s cracks. Link your Instagram account so you can share your unloved shots and even extend the love to others. Or if you’re not up for trying to grab attention, at least it is a reminder of what and what doesn’t work on the site.
