Google flattens the back of the Pixel 10a

Google traded its distinctive camera bar for a flat back with the Pixel 9a, but now it recessed the camera module on new Pixel 10a further. The camera module is now under the rear glass, ensuring the phone won't wobble when placed on a table.  The new midrange Pixel comes with a 6.3-inch Actua display with 3,000 nits peak brightness, along with Gorilla Glass 7i protection and an IP68 rating. But if you have trouble telling it apart from its predecessor, you won't be alone.

YouTube traced brief outage to recommendations system issue

A backend issue related to YouTube's recommendations system caused a brief outage at around 7:45 PM EST last night, which PCMag noted was resolved around two to three hours after. Some users reported that they could see the sidebar and search bar of the app, but the main feed was either showing a "Something went wrong" message or was left blank. The outage affected the main site but also caused issues with YouTube Music, YouTube Kids, and YouTube TV.

Google Pixel 9 now supports Android-to-iPhone AirDrop file transfers

The Google Pixel 9 can now transfer files easily to Apple's ecosystem. AirDrop support for Quick Share is coming to the Pixel 9 range after it initially launched for the newest Pixel 10 devices in November. With AirDrop interoperability, you can transfer files to an iPhone, iPad and Mac without needing an internet connection. Both Pixel and Apple products will need to have the "Everyone for 10 Minutes" option enabled in their settings to allow for the transfer.
