Shopify will open its first Vancouver office

Shopify plans to open its first-ever Vancouver office before the end of the year. The office will be housed in a new four-floor, 6,500-square metre workspace at the Four Bentall Centre in downtown Vancouver. Its current Vancouver-based employees work remotely or at a WeWork space across the street from where their new office will be. The Vancouver office will focus on software development as well as expanding its R&D team. The office will help support around one million online customers globally. 

Shopify plans to hire 1,000 workers for this office, but that would happen over "a couple of years." The Ottawa-based e-commerce company is looking for backend developers, data engineers, mobile developers, product designers, product managers, and web developers.

Apple patent shows a Mac with a curved glass display

Apple has applied for a patent that shows a Mac with a curved glass display. The patent describes a wedge at the back of the desktop that houses its processing parts as well as props up the glass. Apple might also adjust the curved glass so you can fix the angle or fold the device shut. There's a slot at the bottom center of the device, which we presume is where you'll slide a keyboard in. There's a part in the patent that suggests this design could be used as a laptop dock instead of a computer.

If Apple pushes through with this design, we doubt this will be available anytime soon because, well, the tech isn't available yet. But it does give us a glimpse of some of the things the company might consider when it comes to designing its future products.

How to score $10 HAMILTON tickets in Toronto by using the official app

Mirvish Productions annoucned a new digital lottery for HAMILTON tickets in Toronto. 40 tickets for every performance will go for $10 each. Performances wil run February 11 to May 17, 2020 at the Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto. Forty (40) tickets will be sold for every performance for $10 each. The digital lottery will open at 11:00 AM on February 9 for tickets to the Tuesday, February 11 performance. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin two days prior to each performance.

'Falcon and the Winter Soldier' gets a new premiere date on Disney+

Here's some excellent news for you, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be hitting the Disney+ streaming service earlier than anticipated. Instead of coming out in the fall of this year, the show will premiere in August 2020 instead. 

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. MCU stars Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan as the titular characters Sam Wilson or Falcon and Bucky Barnes or the Winter Soldier, respectively. Emily VanCamp will be reprising her role as Agent 13. She made a brief appearance during Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. Daniel Brühl will also be reprising his role as the villain Zemo.
