Slack gets dark mode on mobile, too, brings it first to beta users

So, do you answer Slack messages in the dark? Here’s something to make it easier on your eyes. The workplace collaboration app just brought dark mode to its Android and iOS apps. However, it’s currently only available to beta testers. If you want in on the action, you can join Slack’s beta testing program. Just head over to the app’s settings and find the Join Beta section. You’ll be prompted there to provide your name and e-mail address. When you’re approved to join and have updated your app accordingly, a toggle will appear to let you turn the mode on or off in settings. The Android version of the app will ask you to restart Slack, while the iOS version will get the feature automatically.

Stan Lee’s last cameo isn’t in ‘Captain Marvel’

Marvel’s latest offering reminds us of the legacy that Stan Lee left behind right from the get-go. Captain Marvel opens with a modified version of the Marvel Studios’ signature, which features many photos of Stan instead of the MCU heroes. The introduction was also followed by a simple text that says, “Thank you, Stan.” But that isn’t just the only appearance of the icon in the film. And it seems it won’t be the last time we see him in a Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, either. According to an interview Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige did with ET Online, we still have more Stan sightings to come. "We shot a couple of others, so we're coming up on the last of them, yes," he said. Feige also confirmed that one of said cameos is for the next MCU movie, Avengers: Endgame. When asked about Spider-Man: Far From Home, he offered, "We'll see." For now, you can catch Stan in Captain Marvel, which is already out in theatres.

Google adds ‘Continued Conversations’ with Assistant to smart displays

One way to have a “more natural” conversation with Google Assistant is with Google’s “Continued Conversations” feature. Basically, Assistant stays active and listens to you as you ask it follow-up questions. It lessens the need for you to say the trigger word “OK, Google” or “Hey, Google” to ask it follow-up questions. This feature was only available for audio-only Google Home, Home Mini, and Home Max. Now, the current rollout fixes this issue and makes it available in English (US) across all Smart Displays, including the Google Home Hub, Lenovo Smart Display, JBL Link View and LG XBOOM AI ThinQ WK9. You have to head to Settings > Preferences > Continued conversation in the Google assistant app to activate this feature.
