Purported iPhone 7 video leak hints at larger camera, lack of headphone jack

There have been a significant number of purported iPhone 7 leaks from casemakers, component manufacturers and part sourcers. While everything is far from official until Apple reveals the next generation iOS flagships, we're seeing some details consistently standing out.

The above video posted on Weibo shows the alleged design of the iPhone 7's enclosure with redesigned antenna lines, a larger camera bulge and, no surprise, no headphone jack. Overall dimensions of the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 dummy shows that it is quite identical to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S. iPhone 7 is also expected to have a Smart Connector and additional speakers, similar to the iPad Pro line. This is all we know so far from extremely unofficial and dodgy sources but its good to see that iPhone rumours are still as exciting in 2016 as they were in 2007.

Fujifilm launches Instax Share SP-2 printer in Canada

Fujifilm has remained true to its film roots. Not only do the company's cameras offer photo settings that recall different types of film, they've created a somewhat significant niche of instant photography and film with their Instax line of cameras and film printers.

Fujifilm and Toronto-based digital and experiences agency Kastor & Pollux teamed up for a 2-day photo sharing event to showcase what the printers can do and to celebrate the release of the Instax Share SP-2 printer. Following an invite-only media launch event, Fujifilm and Kastor & Pollux opened the doors of 12 Ossington Ave. for a public viewing with a meet-and-greet with special guest Jenn Im (@imjennim) of YouTube channel Clothes Encounters.

Welcoming over 600 guests, 12 Ossington Ave was transformed into a photography haven; featuring 8 exclusive photography sets based around Pat O'Rourke's photos. Each designed with the intention of providing its engagers with a multitude of DIY-inspired photo opportunities, the sets provided the backdrops to over 400 Instagram posts published under #instaxshareto. In total, over 3.8 million social media impressions were generated over 2 days.

Fujifilm launched an updated version of their standalone photo printer which connects to your iPhone or Android device to print out photos. The SP-2 is about 30% faster and the picture quality is better plus it has a rechargeable battery making it more portable. Fujifilm has injected a bit of style into the SP-2, giving it colour accents like gold and blue. Pricing and availability of the Fujifilm Instax SP-2 is still to be determined.

Android app CTRL-F finds words from real-world documents with your smartphone’s camera

This new Android app is making it easier for you to navigate “real life” reading and research. CTRL-F helps you find words you need from a real-world document or book by taking a photo of said text. Using the app is pretty straightforward. Take a photo of the text and then the app analyzes this text to create a searchable version on your smartphone. After that, you can just search for said term and have CTRL-F highlight that for you. There are conditions to making this app work for you, though. You need to take a fairly-lit, focused, and straight photo. Don’t expect it to read weird fonts or bad handwriting.

CTRL-F isn’t the first of its kind with other scanning apps having built-in text recognition. But if you just want a single-purpose solution for finding text and don’t need to save your searches, you should check this out. Developers say there will also be an iOS version of the app.
