Ubisoft Winnipeg expands hiring as company plans to invest more in the country

Source: Ubisoft

Ubisoft is focusing on expanding its operations in Canada with a recent announcement of creating 200 more jobs in Manitoba and expanding its Winnipeg studio to 300 employees by 2030. The company intends to invest an additional $139 million in the province of Manitoba, tripling its current studio size. This will bring the developer's total investment in the area to $264 million from 2018 to 2030.

The company also previously targeted to grow its Winnipeg studio to 100 within five years of its founding. And that will already be met this month, more than a year ahead of its commitment. Ubisoft plans to continue investing in local entrepreneurs and contribute $1 million to the ecosystem by 2030. Ubisoft Winnipeg intends to hire additional Programmers, including Engine Programmers, Tools Programmers, Online Programmers, and talent from other specialized areas of expertise to support its ambitious plans. You can check out the roles the company is hiring for over here.

Tile introduces new 'Scan and Secure' feature to alert you of unwanted trackers

Source: Tile

The rise of the adoption of Bluetooth-enabled trackers came at the cost of some unsavoury characters using the feature to track/stalk other people. Tile is addressing this problem by introducing a new feature. The company calls it Scan and Secure, accessible through Tile's app. You won't need to sign up for a Tile account, but you will need to install another one on your phone. You can check out how to set it up here.

Tile promises Scan and Secure is one of the first steps it takes to ensure that its users are safe. And they say they are working with experts to find ways to improve safety-related features.

Twitter experiments with audio clip sharing from Spaces audio

Source: Twitter

Twitter is trying out a new feature for Twitter Spaces that will allow hosts to share snippets from their conversations. A small number of hosts on iOS already have access to the feature, but it will come to Android and the web in the future. Hosts can clip up to 30 seconds of audio, which they can then tweet out.

A missed opportunity might be offering the option to listeners, too. It'll be one way to draw fresh eyes into your favourite accounts and their Spaces. But since the feature is still in testing, Twitter might include that in the future.
