A giant foldable iPad on the horizon?

Apple is supposedly working on a foldable device, likely a giant iPad that unfolds into a tablet twice its size (around 20 inches). This ambitious project, currently in development, is expected to launch around 2028, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman in his Power On newsletter.

Apple's rumoured key focus is to minimize the visible crease, a common issue with foldable devices. The company has made significant strides in this area, with prototypes featuring a nearly imperceptible crease. This technological advancement could make foldable devices more appealing to a broader audience.

While Apple won't be the first to enter the foldable market, its unique approach sets it apart from competitors. Unlike dual-screen devices, Apple aims for a seamless, single-screen experience. The operating system for this device is likely to be a variant of iPadOS, leveraging the strengths of the iPad ecosystem.
