Canadian iPad pre-orders placed on May 10th have started shipping in time for the big May 28th international launch date. It seems that both the 3G+W-Fi and the Wi-Fi versions of the iPads have started shipping as Apple has started notifying customers who placed online orders. The Rogers MicroSIM card, which accompanies the 3G+WiFi variant, started shipping separately late last week.

Today is the day that interested Canadian users can pre-order the Wi-Fi and the 3G plus Wi-FI version of the magical and revolutionary iPad which has sold a million units within the first month of shipping.

The iPad isn't due in Canada until "late April" as per Apple's website but this hasn't stopped tech-smitten Canadians from crossing borders, scouring eBay and chancing the grey market to get their hands on Apple's latest toy. An entirely new category of device, the iPad brings with it a lot of promise but also a lot of compromise. Here are our initial impressions.
