Google teases first audio glasses at I/O 2026

Google is taking another stab at smart glasses, but this time they're calling them "intelligent eyewear." The first iteration of this revived smart glasses line will be audio glasses made in collaboration with Samsung and Qualcomm, at least for the hardware side. On the design front, Google is working with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.

Tapping the side of the frames will provide instant access to Gemini. You can inquire about what you see, get turn-by-turn directions, answer calls and send texts, and take photos and videos, among others. Basically, Google is reviving its glasses project and is taking cues from Meta's success with its smart glasses. The company hasn't revealed when the glasses will be released, but we anticipate updates in the "coming months."

Google's Gemini Intelligence introduces custom widgets

Customizing is going to be more personalized on your Android smartphone and smartwatch with a new custom widgets feature. With Gemini Intelligence's Create My Widget, you can describe the type of widget you want to appear on your smartphone or smartwatch.

"For example, if you're a meal prepper, just ask Create My Widget to 'Suggest three high-protein meal prep recipes every week,' and watch as it builds a custom dashboard you can add and resize right on your home screen. Or if you're a cyclist who only cares about wind speed and rain, you can create a weather widget that surfaces those exact stats," Google said in its press release.

Gboard on Android gets a Gemini Intelligence upgrade with Rambler

Rambler on Gboard will make you sound less like one when you dictate your speech into text. This Gemini Intelligence feature can edit your speech into more concise messages and remove your filler words and sounds. It even promises to support language switching mid-speech.

According to Google, it will only transcribe in real-time and won't store or save the converted speech. "Whether you're blending English with Hindi or any other combination, Rambler understands the context and the nuance, ensuring your message sounds exactly like you — only more polished," the company said.

Google's autofill gets Gemini treatment, too

Google is also injecting its artificial intelligence into its autofill feature on Android. It can easily fill out complex forms on your smartphone using Gemini. It does so by pulling relevant information from your connected apps. The feature is opt-in, so that you can choose if and when to connect Gemini with autofill and turn this feature on and off in the settings.
