Google Gemini promises 'smarter' browsing on Android version of Chrome in June

GoogleAside from automating multi-step tasks on Android, Chrome users on the mobile platform will soon find it easier to interact with the browser and automate tedious tasks there as well. Starting in late June, Google promises Android users will get a "smarter browsing assistant" with the help of Gemini. The web browser will soon be able to do tasks like booking appointments or tickets or even find and reserve parking spots for you. You can still intervene when needed, but the option is now available for you to let Gemini handle these little chores. It can even help you research, summarize and compare content across different websites.

Google plans to debut first AI-powered glasses in 2026

Google is attempting to re-enter the smart glasses market, with artificial intelligence-powered eyewear slated for launch in 2026. The company aims to catch up with Meta and their Ray-Ban Meta glasses by releasing audio-only glasses that support its Gemini AI assistant, as well as another design featuring a built-in lens display.

The Alphabet-owned tech giant is working with Samsung, Gentle Monster and Warby Parker on the hardware's design. It's unclear whether the audio-only or the glasses with built-in screens are launching first. The glasses will be built on top of Google's headset operating system, Android XR.
