If you discount the Samsung Galaxy Tab's relatively high price and focus on its  unique features (mobile hotspot, only 7-inch tablet in the market, dual-cameras and, okay, yeah, Adobe Flash) it really is a compelling tablet which can only get better once the Honeycomb OS (Android 3.0) is released by Google and Samsung sometime this year. With all the major eBook reader apps now available,  the Samsung Galaxy Tab is turning out to be the ultimate eBook reading device today.

Review: Incipio Samsung Galaxy Tab Silicrylic hard shell case with silicone core

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is a pretty sturdy tablet specially since it's got the Gorilla Glass front panel protecting the screen but the device's polycarbonate body won't stand up to too many drops. We've been testing the Incipio Samsung Galaxy Tab Silicrylic hard shell case for about three weeks and find that it manages to offer superb protection at the expense of a little added bulk.

Virgin Mobile is introducing a new postpaid flexible rate plan for the Apple iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab. With no activation fee, Virgin Mobile Members can choose from two plans. For only $20/month, Members get up to 500 MB of data – and for $35/month, they can access up to 5 GB.

Apple iPad vs Samsung Galaxy Tab

2010 was the Apple iPad’s year. It took the tech world by storm and simply became one of the hottest devices to hit the market and its success has been phenomenal with just over 9 million units sold as of this writing.

As of late November, the iPad’s only competition came from Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, a sexy 7-inch Google Android powered tablet with a staggering array of features but whose operating system was that of a smartphone. Still, Samsung was able to sell 1,000,000 units in the firs two months, proving that there is a demand for a 7-inch tablet with features similar to the iPad's.
